The
Transit Center (TC) at 1020 Chapala Street in Santa Barbara is
the hub of the MTD system. Many bus trips begin and end at the
TC, making it a convenient spot for passenger transfers. A large
waiting room is available for your convenience. There you can
buy tokens or bus passes, map out your route with a TC Advisor
or just relax until your bus arrives.
The
Downtown Waterfront Shuttle
is sponsored
by the City of Santa Barbara to provide frequent bus service along
the busy State Street and Waterfront area. Downtown Waterfront
Shuttle buses (marked with the blue and black sailboat symbol)
travel on State Street from Sola Street to Stearns Wharf.
Getting around
by bike is really quite easy. The bike lanes are well marked, there
are plentiful bike racks, and most important, no major hills in
the downtown area.
